INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY PORTRAITS
Most of my work is portraiture, whether a headshot for a corporate report or LinkedIn, a high school senior portrait, or a woman and her newborn child. Sadly, people do not often have their portrait taken specially, unless there is an event. The timelessness of an image, however, especially if in black and white, is priceless for friends and family members, even long after we are gone. I recently found an unmounted photograph of my great-grandparents in a box, their full names and the photographer's name and location on the back, taken in 1918. I would not have had that moment of discovery, nor the now prolonged connection, had they not all deliberately captured that moment.
If you are considering portraiture for yourself, your family, or any special occasion, I would be happy to discuss what is possible. Because anything is. Outside, inside with natural or studio lighting, in a grungy alley or the rolling green hills or mountains, I will help you create the look you want. Some of my clients love to participate in creating their look themselves, and many leave it all to me. Either way, I will ensure your satisfaction and do my upmost to bring you a heartfelt smile every time you look at your pictures.
What to expect:
First, contact me to schedule a no-cost consultation in person, by phone, or email. We will then decide the location and time, and discuss fees.
On the day of the shoot, we will meet at the designated location and spend 30-120 minutes taking pictures, usually depending on how many people are involved, or if animals or children are participating. I recommend 1-2 clothing changes, even if it's just a jean jacket or a hat. Also, if you have a friend that makes you laugh or boosts your confidence, feel free to bring them! I might even get a picture of the two of you. :-)
I request a 50% deposit prior to the shoot, and balance before finals are delivered.
After the shoot:
I will provide a link to your proofs (incompletely edited images) by email to you to your personalized online gallery within one week, which you are welcome to share with family or friends (they are often great judges to help you pick). Depending on how many final images you choose, I will complete your final high-res JPEG files within 1-2 weeks and send to you online.
Prints:
I also highly recommend choosing 1 or 2 to be printed -- I lovingly (and obsessively) print them myself, and I promise you will love the images even more. I use only archival quality papers and ink, which ensures no fading for 100-150 years. I believe a photograph is not complete until it is printed, and the timelessness and importance of such history can't be emphasized enough. Printing fees are not insignificant, but I promise you the quality will far surpass prints from a third-party printing lab.
